PR NIGHT — PARTICIPANT WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

Venue: Terry Fox Athletic Facility, 2960 Riverside Dr, Ottawa, ON
Organizer: The 25th Hour Athletic Inc. ("the Organizer")

1. Voluntary participation and assumption of risk.
I am participating in PR Night voluntarily. I understand that running a timed 5K race is a strenuous physical activity that carries real risks, including but not limited to: muscle, joint, and bone injuries, falls and collisions with other runners or track infrastructure, heat-related illness, cardiac events, and in rare cases serious injury or death. I understand these risks exist even in a well-organized event, and I freely accept and fully assume them.

2. Fitness to participate.
I confirm that I am physically fit to run a 5K race, that I have no medical condition that makes participation unsafe, and that if I have any doubt, I have consulted a physician before race night. I agree to select the heat that matches my realistic current fitness and to follow all instructions from race officials, volunteers, and medical staff.

3. Release of liability.
In exchange for being permitted to participate, I release and forever discharge The 25th Hour Athletic Inc., its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, sponsors, and partners, and the venue owner and operator, from any and all claims, demands, actions, and liabilities of any kind arising from or connected to my participation in PR Night, including claims arising from ordinary negligence, to the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Ontario. This release binds me, my heirs, and my legal representatives.

4. Medical treatment consent.
I consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary by event medical personnel or emergency responders if I am injured or become ill during the event, and I accept responsibility for any costs of that treatment not covered by my own insurance.

5. Media release.
I understand that PR Night is photographed and filmed. I grant the Organizer a perpetual, royalty-free right to use photos, video, and race results that include my name, image, or likeness for event coverage, marketing, and social media, without compensation. If I do not wish to appear in marketing content, I will notify the Organizer in writing at anthony@unlockthe25th.com before race night.

6. Registering on behalf of others (Crew Pack and group entries).
If I am registering other runners, I confirm that I have each runner's authority to accept this waiver on their behalf, that I have shared its contents with them, and that each registered runner accepts these terms as a condition of participation. Runners under 18 must have this waiver accepted by a parent or legal guardian.

7. Event changes and refusal of entry.
The Organizer may modify the schedule, heats, or course for safety or operational reasons, and may refuse participation to anyone whose condition or conduct presents a safety risk. Tickets are non-refundable except as required by law; transfers and heat changes are handled per the event FAQ.

8. General.
If any part of this waiver is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. This waiver is governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario.
